The letter opening is under the top lift up lid- opening suitable for A4: There is also an opening, same size, at the back of the box this means the box can be fitted onto a wall for front delivery and front retrieval of mail, or behind a fence or wall or door (ie behind a door letter plate)so to be used for front delivery of mail and rear retrieval
